The Salsa Challenge method of learning to dance salsa is based on mastering,
with excellent technique and style, the 10 basic elements that comprise all
salsa dancing. Everything is also taught in terms of our signature focus on the
Salsa Connection: the Art of Partnering. This approach is proven to get dancers on the dance floor quickly with
confidence and joy. We have made a series of 8 instructional videos that cover
all this material and they are available to students taking these courses at a
special price. Salsa-Challenge 1 we will be learning and developing a great understanding of the fundamental elements of salsa dance. We will learn the basic salsa steps, right turns and variations, cross body moves and variations and work on combining all of these moves with flow and confidence. We also work with students on the Salsa Connection - art of leading and following. To develop this skill we do skill drills and exercises geared toward connection with your partner.

In this class we will expect all students to have a firm understanding of all ten basic elements: basic, cumbia, la cucaracha, open break, right turns, hook turns, cross body move, cross body move with a left turn, open break right turns and left turns.
